Auditions
Applications for auditions for our 2025/26 season are now closed. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in the concert series. Details of future audition processes will be published here when open to new applications.
As part of our charitable work, we are fortunate enough to be able to offer concert opportunities to approximately ten emerging musicians and ensembles annually.
The Society’s role is to foster upcoming talent; the new artists selected via audition are the foundation of our concert series. Our emerging artists are programmed alongside established artists, presenting a fresh, varied concert series that ensures talented new artists are given the promotion they deserve. This year we are hosting auditions for our available concert slots at The Stoller Hall and The Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.
Interested? Then here’s what you need to do.
Firstly, submit an application form and video performance to us online. Applications for audition processes will usually be open for two months. When we are accepting applications the application form link above will allow you to submit an application form. Once the application deadline has passed, our panel assesses all online entries and we invite around 25 to 30 applicants to audition for the Society in Manchester.
We are not currently accepting applications.
Each audition lasts 12 minutes (with warm up time beforehand) and takes place in front of our panel and a small number of guests. We try to be as friendly and relaxed as possible. Once the audition is complete, we’ll do our best to let you know the outcome as soon as possible, and we keep in touch with you throughout the entire process.
If you’re wondering about the kinds of performances we’re looking for, here are two application videos from pianist George Harliano and violinist Roberts Balanas. George and Roberts applied to be part of the concert series at the last auditions, and presented their concerts during 2022; all of our selected auditionees are fantastic musicians.
